Notions of Time is a 3D animation that began during the COVID-19 pandemic as a series of still-life studies reflecting the monotony and quiet rituals of motherhood. Through digitally modeled domestic scenes, the work considers how time is experienced within cycles of care, repetition, and everyday routine. The animation extends these studies into a meditation on duration, attention, and the rhythms of domestic life.
The audio draws on the tone and structure of a virtual assistant, foregrounding how ideas of care and assistance are often gendered—even within digital culture and automated systems.
